Recent Historic Brookstown Inn Review: "If you like places w/ architectural interest you will love this place! We stayed in a queen suite which is so well laid out. In some parts of the room, the walls were over twenty feet tall. Since this was an old cotton mill years and years ago and has been renovated, they kept a perfect amount of the original architecture such as exposed old brick walls  that make it so quaint and it looks like original wooden beams in many places also. So much ambiance and everything you could possibly need in the room including a fireplace mantel with electric logs in there. The only little not perfect thing was an area on the wall near bathtub that seemed to be water damaged and should be repaired and tidied up. Also had nice service in restaurant bar but the hotel restaurant surprisingly completely lacks the same ambiance as the hotel. I couldn't understand why they would have everything else so quaint but not the restaurant. They need to put in wood floors or something in there. It looks like a roughly finished basement. Too bad though, we had a good bartender to enjoy the free drinks that we got from the hotel as part of our welcome! Also, there is not a drive up area to unload your car, nor did we see any luggage carts. We understood this was part of keeping the integrity of the original architecture and building layout. The only entrance where you could wheel in your luggage is not made obvious as such, but we accidentally discovered it at the same entrance as the hotel restaurant. We liked the hotel so much that these things did not negatively impact our stay at all. It is such a refreshing change from the usual concrete boxes of the chains and it has all the uniqueness and service that you would expect from a bed and breakfast WITHOUT the b and b prices!!! We decided to plan another trip to WS just to be able to stay there again!"
