If you like convenience and amenities, this is not your place. For just a one night stay it would be fun. It seems more like a bed and breakfast but the breakfast needs improvement. It is quaint and unique.

What a great, charming hotel! You can really feel the history there and the ambiance is fabulous. Room was huge and comfortable. Beds comfy. Only suggestion is some more powerful shower heads as the water pressure was non-existent and it took forever to get hot water. But it was a small price to pay for this experience. The price was unbelievable for  the quality of the room. Wine and cheese reception and cookies and milk every night. We will definitely be back! Thanks Brookstown for a memorable stay! FYI - The hotel restaurant closed 1 month ago but there are 2 others right next door - one of which provides room service.

We visit Winston Salem a few times a year but this was our first stay here. Its in a good spot downtown right in the middle of everything. Great rooms lots of space even in hte bathrooms. The water pressure in the shower was aweful but thats my only gripe. The evening milk and cookies were awesome and staff was very friendly. The rates cant be beat  either. This will be our new spot to stay everytime we visit now!

This is a lovely, refurbished cotton mill that has maintained the character of its history. We enjoyed very nice amenities including wine and cheese and a satisfying breakfast. The room was comfortable but the bathroom needs some updating and improvements. We recommend this historic inn and plan to return again.

The hotel was easy to find off the Highway, and the night clerk was knowlegable of the area and very friendly. If your looking to go out to eat or just get a drink, walk a block down the street to "Willow's" for a nice meal with great service. Old Salem and Downtown Winston -Salem made for a nice run in the morning too.

I loved the feel of this hotel situated in a historic textile mill. There is a tourist information center in the same building which was super convenient. The hotel is within walking distance of many great restaurants and bars as well as Old Salem. Our room was a suite. The bedroom was sort of a loft within the room which made it more interesting than  your average hotel. We liked the exposed brick wall in our room and there was tons of parking. I didn't love the fact that the bathroom needed updating badly. The grout had fallen out completely in at least half of the shower. The couch was possibly the least comfortable I've ever encountered. The room was stifling even after I turned the heat down to 55 and turned the fan off. Also, the free wine reception isn't local wine which I found disappointing. When I mentioned this the man serving me said it was because all of the local wines "sucked." I found this not only unprofessional, but a poor reflection on the region in which he should have been promoting tourism. A few days later I toured a few of the area's wineries and found many of them to be quite pleasing. Last, the continental breakfast was one of the worst I've had. We chose to eat breakfast elsewhere after the first morning. The pastries were of superbly poor quality and the fruit wasn't ripe. Even so, I would suggest staying here if you want something convenient and aren't too persnickety.

This place was great for the money. The neighborhood isn't the greatest and it's a little hard to find but worth searching for for sure. The room was great and unique, unlike any other room I have stayed in.

While visiting Winston - Salem we stayed here and loved it. Not the typical hotel. The fact it is a converted cotton mill and historical site made it more than just another "room and place to sleep". We had a mini-suite and it was like being in a cozy loft apartment. Very comfortable. The staff was friendly and polite and very helpful. The location  is great its close without being too close to major attractions and the city center. Plus the wine and cheese and cookies in the evening were a nice surprise. Would definitely stay here again.

I would not call the hotel a luxury get-away, but cookies, wine tasting, and great convenience made it almost perfect for me. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff was polite and helpful. The breakfast was fine for what was promised. My only complaint was the early hour that they stopped serving breakfast.
